As we begin 2026, it’s a timely moment to reflect on recent progress and set the priorities that will shape the months ahead. In this edition, we share updates on the latest PREP features, insights from our recent accessibility blogs, and a look ahead at the upcoming events where we’ll be engaging with the accessibility community. Let’s dive in.

Key Highlights in PREP?

Smarter, More Resilient Accessibility & Compliance Checks in PREP

PREP’s in-built accessibility and compliance checker has been enhanced to better handle real-world document complexities. The WCAG and PDF/UA checker can now manage scenarios where validations were previously incomplete due to missing references, objects, or tags, an issue commonly found in legacy, academic, and large-scale enterprise PDFs.

This improvement enables more consistent and reliable compliance results, even when source documents are imperfect. Teams can complete accessibility checks with fewer interruptions, reduce time spent diagnosing structural gaps, and move forward with remediation more efficiently – bringing accuracy, scalability, and confidence to high-volume accessibility workflows.

Accessible PDFs provide equal access to information to people with disabilities, including those with blindness or visual impairment, have cognitive or learning disabilities, or who use assistive technology such as screen readers. The ADA Title II Deadline Is Approaching – Focus and Prioritisation Are Key

With the ADA Title II deadline approaching on April 24, 2026, organizations are reviewing their public-facing digital content to ensure accessibility across formats- not just PDFs, but also images, videos, and learning materials. While some legacy content may be archived, active and frequently used content typically needs to be prioritised, especially as timelines tighten and internal capacity is stretched.
Areas clients are commonly focusing on include:
  • PDF and document remediation for reports, forms, and public notices
  • Image accessibility, given how widely visual content appears across websites and documents
  • Video accessibility, including captions and descriptions for public-facing media
  • Course and learning accessibility, for live and on-demand training and instructional content

Need a quick check or guidance?

If you’d like to discuss prioritisation, timelines, or next steps for ADA Title II compliance, please reach out to us at contact@continualengine.com. We’re happy to review your current content and support you in planning what to address before the April deadline.
